The largest bird-scaring wind-rattle in the world

Who are we

This piece of land was put on the map due to a giant bird-scaring device at a village called Hermanci. You will find the »klopotec« on a hilltop dividing the municipality of Ormož from that of Ljutomer. It was made by Stanko Habjanič, a local amateur builder who is determined enough to keep up the family tradition of building these unique devices. It actually took him 2 months or about 300 hours of work to put it together, and he also keeps on making some minor improvements on his handiwork on regular basis. The windmill measures about 21 meters (68.8 feet) in diameter and weighs almost a ton, so the local firefighters have had to help set it up for 11 years in a row now, and in 2010 it was entered in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest windmill-like wind-rattle in the world. A landmark well worth visiting.
